10 lbs down...10 miles to go

I haven't wanted to say anything (because that would make it official, and more people would hold me accountable) but my dear husband and I are one month into our healthy living journey. I think I have hit a milestone that is worth posting about for myself...and I am ready for more accountability too I think...I am down 10 lbs...and making more and more progress every day. My clothes fit better, I feel better, I have more energy, my face looks skinnier, and people are noticing the difference--and telling me, and that really makes me feel good.

I first started this blog as a weight loss journey, hence the title--Jessica is Losing it--but haven't really kept it up--but will try to do a better job.

One of my biggest inspirations and motivations has been the study that my accountability partner and I are doing together called Made to Crave. You can find out more at www.madetocrave.org. It is something that has helped me realize that food is not an acceptable thing to go to, and that I need to turn to God when I am stressed, celebrating, tired, bored, etc. I highly recommend that you do the study...it will really make the book sink into your heart and soul, by asking the tough questions. Not only has it helped me strengthen my physical body and health, but my spiritual body and health as well.

I started working out again...and by again I mean the last time I went to the gym I was 7 weeks pregnant, and my little girl just turned 4! You can do the math. I am now running a majority of a 5k on the treadmill at the gym and am increasing my running vs walking time each time I work out. I am working hard training for running a 10 mile trail run at the end of April. Big things are happening, not just with my health, but with my heart. I am so thankful and can't wait to keep sharing with you.

Good for you, Jess. Keep up the good work! I am proud of your progress and know that you will feel a major sense of accomplishment when you complete your run for baby Lilly too.
