10 LBS DOWN

Well, I was 10 lbs down and didn't even blog about it.

It has been Thanksgiving, and I think I was showing 2 extra lbs on the scale but that is okay, I am buckling in and getting serious.

I want to do the Remember the 10 run around campus in April. Justin and I talked about it. How fun would it be to run a race? I don't want to just lose weight, I want more of a goal to look to. A race that I have to train for is an awesome goal. The run doesn't change. I can't say....oh, I want to run around Boomer Lake and have an infinite amount of time to do it, because I will never get done.

I have to join the gym. It is hard to think about having fewer hours with Cori, but I have to get in shape for both myself and for her. I don't want to be an overweight mom. I want to be fit and healthy and live a long happy life.

So that is my goal. I just have to get started.

Wahooo!!

Today's weight: 174

I have lost 8 lbs since the 1st of October!! I can wear jeans that I couldn't even button before. I feel so great and it is really fueling me to do more.

So the food logging...i know that people who log their food lose more weight than those who don't but I am finding that I don't have time to do that. So....I may just keep a point total for the day on here instead of blogging it all.

And, my physical therapist recommended cardio for my headaches...and since this week is going to be so nice weather-wise, I will try to get in at least one walk around Boomer lake (5k) and at least two other outside walks that are not including my break walking at work.

Wednesday October 29

Okay, so Wednesday sucked food wise so I am not even going to do it. I blew my points for the entire week, but I did enjoy the carpet picnic with my hubby and kiddo.

I really don't feel too hungry all the time like I used to when I would "diet".  This time I know that I can do it and I am determined.  Also, I know that God is behind me and the Holy Spirit is guiding me.  I know it will be hard to be "good" with all the candy and food coming up, but I know that I have self-control and that I can say no to the things that I do not need and that will not benefit my body. 
 
Today I have no energy at all.  I am very tired and didn't sleep well.  I think the steroids are contributing to that.  I took the last one today so hopefully that problem will stop and I will be able to sleep and have energy to move.

Monday Oct 27

I start my physical therapy this morning for my neck/back/shoulder pain! I am excited but I am scared that it is going to hurt.
Weigh in Monday: 176 lbs

Breakfast:
3/4 cup cereal-- 3 pts
1/2 cup skim milk--1 pts
2 cups coffee with splenda and powered crappy creamer--2 pts
total: 6 pts

Lunch:
1 piece of Pizza Rustica guessing 6 pts

Dinner:
3 oz lean chicken- 3 pts
1 cup veggies- 1 pt

Total 4 pts

Snack:
2 milky way fun size 4 pts
9 tortilla chips- 3 pts
1 tbsp spinach dip- 1 pt
1 can sprite zero
Total pts 8

Activity:
Walking 20 mins- -2 pts
total today 22 pts

I was in a really bad mood today and really snacked bad, but I still stayed in my range since dinner was so low in points. I am pretty proud of myself. I had wanted to do more activity, but it was cold so I didn't get the chance. Also, my neck was hurting really badly from the nerve stretches that I had to do.

Sunday Oct 26

Breakfast:

1 modified muffin--guessing 3 pts since I used applesauce instead of oil
coffee--3 cups, one with creamer and two with splenda and skim milk 4 pts
total 8 pts

Lunch:
Pizza hut buffet-- This was not my idea. I tried to be good, but probably had about 14 points.

Dinner tonight is going to be pizza rustica because it is what we have to make . This is going to be very high in the point range too since it is ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Italian sausage, spinach, mushrooms all in a pie crust.

I will start with the good food next week when I go to the store, but for right now this is what we have so I will just have to do some portion control and work out.

I had a walk planned for today but the wind is really high so we will have to skip it. Maybe some crunches and lunges and stuff since we will be stuck inside.

So I did some kiddo aerobics with Cori outside. It was so fun and she was so cute. We "worked out" for 20 mins doing marching, "high knees" which when Cori said it-it sounded like heiney and it was so cute, arms circles, squats, toe touches and sky reaches, and running in place and jumping. It was fun and I wish we had it on video. Some moderate activity which sure beat sitting on our rear-ends after a high point, super yummy pizza rustica.

Saturday Oct 25

Today is a football game day and we are having a bbq, so my points are going to be high.

Breakfast:
Froot Loops- 1 cup--2pts
Whole Milk (it is all we have)- 1/2 cup- 2 pts
coffee-- 4 pts

So the rest of the day was really bad because we had the bbq. For lunch and dinner I enjoyed myself and had brisket, bread, potato salad, beans, ribs, chips and dip and one cupcake--even though I really wanted two.

Not too bad of a day, even though I did over eat a little and made my belly hurt.

I didn't get a work out in. We had intended on taking the kids for a walk, but then it got dark and we never did.

Tonight is not a good meal. I gotta get the "unhealthy food" out of the fridge so we are having brats, pork and beans, sauerkraut, and veggies. --So after I typed this I realized that the meal I had planned wasn't really too bad.

I am Losing It

This will either be a blog of me losing my mind, or of me losing the 50 or so pounds I have put on since my first year of college. I know that I can do it. I am not putting it off any longer. I am going to get fit!

I start PT on Monday for my shoulder/neck/back pain. Hopefully I can get some pain relief and the heachaches will go away and I will feel better.

I have been wearing a pedometer for the month of October and participating in Walktober with the hospital, but I must admit I haven't been very good about trying to increase my steps and walk more. Stuff keeps getting in the way, but NO MORE EXCUSES!

I am going to get out there and walk/run/work my butt off. Literally.

The picture was taken in July. I was 182 lbs. This is the only full body picture I can find. I am always the one taking pictures so I am not usually in them. The shirt I am wearing in the pic is an xtra large and the pants are size 16.

My weight today is 177--so I have already lost 5 lbs.
